Matins, or Orthros (both of which mean "morning" in Latin and Greek, respectively), is often conducted in the early morning, and is so done before Divine Liturgy within the Orthodox Church. The Divine Liturgy, conducted on Sundays, is the primary worship service within the Church. During Divine Liturgy, a homily is delivered by the priest, and the Eucharist is partaken of by those baptized or chrismated in the Church.
